Chequers Hotel is a beautifully presented early 19thCentury former Victorian School House, built from local limestone and hand crafted sandstone, the interior has been refurbished to a very high standard throughout. The owners have been meticulous in restoring the many period features, whilst introducing all the comforts that the modern traveller expects, such as; Satellite TV, Wi-Fi, Power Showers and such like.

The heart of the Hotel is our magnificent wedding ceremony room (pictured), this is the former main hall of the Victorian School, the vaulted ceiling has been restored to its former glory and the original sandstone artwork has been exposed, to present a truly remarkable room, befitting of any wedding photo album.
