The Coppermines Mountain Venue is a wedding venue like no other in the English Lake District, Cumbria. This unique, charmingly rustic and exclusive property is set amongst bubbling becks, thundering waterfalls and rugged crags in the heart of the majestic Coppermines Valley. It offers magnificent views of the Old Man of Coniston above and Coniston Water in the valley below. This incredible venue was a finalist in the Wedding Venue of the Year category at the 2022 Cumbria Tourism Awards and is situated within a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It's also listed as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and sits at the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our site is licensed for both civil ceremonies and civil partnerships and has been holding weddings since 2004.

Facilities and Capacity

From arrival, the Coppermines Mountain Venue is exclusively yours and you have the freedom to decide how you wish your celebration to unfold. The Copper Wedding Barn, the property's rustic ceremony space, can comfortably seat up to 120 guests. On-site accommodation, with private hot tubs, is available for up to 22 people with further accommodation available nearby. If you'd like to make the most of the stunning mountain views, you're invited to set up a marquee or tipi on the grounds with space to accommodate up to 250 guests for your celebration. Thanks to its mountain setting, the valley offers a beautiful backdrop whatever the season and provides numerous outdoor opportunities for simply stunning wedding photography. A spectacular working waterwheel provides a striking and unique backdrop for your soon-to-be treasured pictures.
