About

The Kirk of St. Nicholas in Aberdeen is simply an extraordinary venue in which to have your wedding ceremony.

Located in the heart of the city, the Kirk is the oldest church in Aberdeen, with parts of it dating back to 1124, making it the oldest building and the birthplace of Christianity in Aberdeen. Housing over 100 historical artefacts and effigies, this well-preserved church holds within its walls the stunning memorial Oil and Gas Chapel designed by Tim Stead MBE. The only James Gibbs building in Scotland, the Kirk has a magnificent stained-glass window and a historic organ which overlooks the pews with its music dancing around the high ceilings.

Marriages at the Kirk of St Nicholas are a unique and memorable experience for couples and guests.

Steeped in beauty and history, it truly will be an unforgettable ceremony.
