The Moat House was a brilliant venue for our wedding. The location and hotel are wonderful and the staff exceptional, especially our wedding coordinator (Emily).

Would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone.

We got married at The Moat House in September and cannot recommend the venue and Vicky and the team enough. From the day we first went to visit the venue everyone was really friendly, helpful and welcoming and we definitely got a good feeling about booking our wedding there.
Nothing was too much trouble for the team, and everything I asked for or wanted was fulfilled with a smile. Vicky in particular was just amazing both leading up to and on the day of the wedding, she made everything just perfect and we can’t thank her enough. We had the best day and want to do it all over again!

We cannot recommend The Moat House enough. Vicky and the team have given us the best experience from day one, and we've been made to feel special throughout. Everything on the wedding day ran like clockwork, the food was delicious, the rooms were dressed beautifully, and the grounds are lovely for lots of photos to capture precious memories. Vicky worked her socks off from first thing in the morning, right through to late into the evening, making sure everything was perfect for us and our guests. Thank you so much for everything!

We had our wedding here 2 weeks ago and I can not recommend this venue highly enough.
From day one Vicky and the wedding team made us feel special and could not do enough for us.
Emails returned within hours every time and invariably the answer was 'yes' to anything we asked. Every time we visited we were welcomed with smiles and drinks.
As for the actual day..... everything was perfect, care and consideration not just for us but extended to every guest we had.
I can't stop smiling thinking of our day, it was everything we wanted it to be from arriving the night before to leaving the day afterwards. I don't regret a single penny!

Wow, what can I say about the moat house. From our initial discussion with Emily through to our big day with Vicky it was everything we ever dreamed of. The whole day went smoothly and nothing was too much for the team at the moat house. We would definitely recommend the moat house to anyone who is looking for such a magical experience on their wedding day. Thank you once again.

After only getting engaged last year and wanting a short engagement we knew a wedding for 2024 would be a big ask. From the moment we met Vicky and the Moathouse team we knew there was no other place for us to get married. The venue was gorgeous overlooking the canal alongside the beautiful Acton Suite it was the perfect setting for our big day. We had a church wedding arriving at the Moathosue for the remainder of the day and Vicky could do no more for us from start to finish during the day checking we were okay and stocked up with food and drinks, checking we were happy with how everything had turned out and even checking with us late in to the evening before going home.

Throughout the process we wanted to make some changes to our prescribed menu and again the team were more than accommodating to meet our needs. We cannot thank the Moathouse team enough for all they did for our special day and how easy they made everything for us.

Me and my (now) husband tied the knot at The Moat House last week and had the most perfect day! Emily was our wedding coordinator and was fantastic in organizing all of the finer details. We felt very well supported, listened to and looked after on the day. We are extremely happy with how everything went from the ceremony, the wedding breakfast to the evening reception. We keep saying that we want to do it all over again as just had the BEST day! Thank you so much to Emily and the wonderful wedding team for giving us a day that we will treasure forever!

We had the most amazing wedding day, from start to finish everything was absolutely perfect and exactly how we wanted it. The team were so helpful and responsive throughout the planning process and Emily was amazing on the day! The venue and its surroundings are stunning, endless picture opportunities, we had so many compliments on our choice of venue. If you're getting married go and visit the Moat House to see its beautiful photo opportunities and the beautiful venue. The staff are so attentive and always on hand to help! Throughout the planning process they constantly meet or call you to keep things up to date and ensure your day runs so smooth. We can't thank Vicky and the team enough for preparing us for this day any better than they did! They all go above and beyond even helping with jobs with our suppliers which were out of their hands! Our guests had nothing but compliments for food and rooms too. We had an amazing time and couldn't of done it without you. If we could do it again we'd be back we made the best choice on the best day with the best people! Thank you all soooo much! Head down you will NOT be dissappointed.

We had the most wonderful wedding day and Victoria always went that extra mile for us within the planning and also on the day she is truly a superstar. The venue is fantastic and we had so many compliments on our day and the surroundings of the venue.

We booked with the moat house 18months before our wedding and were amazed at how affordable they were for such a stunning venue (we chose mid week and out of season in October). We had regular meetings with Emily (wedding coordinator) and also received emails with updates, tips and suggestions on what we should be doing to help things tick along in the build up. The Moat house were so flexible for all suggestions on our day, they even made a cocktail from a recipe that we provided in memory of my brother who has passed away so our guests could have one in his memory. We also hired chairs and tables through the moat house who were by far cheaper than the venue dresser companies. We felt our day was so personal with everything well thought through to represent us as a couple. I stayed at the venue the night before the wedding and as there was no function on that evening I was allowed to set my DIY decorations up in the room that evening which was amazing as I could relax the next morning.

My mum, bridesmaids and me had a continental breakfast in the library whilst getting ready which was the perfect start to the day. From the get go the staff were so attentive and helpful. To my knowledge, there were no hiccups at all. Vicky (wedding coordinator) was there whenever we needed her and had usually sorted any queries that we had before we even had chance to ask. She guided us through the day ensuring I got ready and down the aisle in time and that all of the guests were happy. Vicky even went to great lengths to make sure the train on my wedding dress was perfect as I walked down the aisle - how amazing! After the ceremony we had a little drive around the village in an old Land Rover that we had hired (with a glass of champagne supplied by the moat house) which was perfect. Vicky also ensured we had time to get some photos in the rowing boat (under her expertise without falling in!) which was such a beautiful experience and I would highly recommend doing. We also hired a live illustrator (Honey Bee Illustrates) to paint our guests as their wedding favour and Vicky was kind enough to let all of the guests know to go to her for a painting made which I was very grateful for as I’d forgotten to tell a lot of the guests myself before hand. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and our wedding photos really show the perfect rustic autumnal feel that we wanted. The food was incredible including the canapés and it was amazing having our own bar which reduced waiting times. We chose to have the four poster bedroom as or bridal suite as we felt it was more rustic and cosy with a gorgeous view of the canal compared to the usual bridal suite which is much larger but at the front of the building.

We finished the celebrations off with a joint breakfast the next morning with all of our families and friends who had stayed at the venue to talk about all of our favourite bits (and some to nurse a hangover) before our guests departed for their journeys.

We had the most incredible wedding day and will value the memories made for a lifetime. We’re so glad we paid extra for a nicer photographer (Esme Whiteside) and have some incredible photos to remember our day by. There’s nothing that we’d change and nothing we could even suggest to improve on, it was perfect. We’re so grateful to Vicky, Emily and all the team at the moat house and can’t wait to go back for our 1 year anniversary.

We had our wedding day on 10th September and could not have asked for more. Both Emily and Chloe were fantastic at organising our day, making suggestions and ensuring everything went as planned. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff are pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend.

The staff were amazing throughout the whole planning process and ensured everything went smoothly on the day. They were so polite to us and our guests and nothing was too much trouble. Emily and Victoria dealt with us mostly when planning and were just amazing the whole time. We couldn’t have chose a better venue, the grounds were just perfect, everything was and we just loved our day so much thanks to the fantastic team here.
