We couldn’t have chosen a better venue if we’d tried! Everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were absolutely amazing. From Bri who organised everything pre wedding to Alex and Kelly who seriously could not have been better on the day. The hotel has loads of character and was perfect for us. The rooms we stayed in were gorgeous and all our family and friends loved the hotel. Everyone had the absolute best time and I have no doubt it was down to the amazing staff.

The Oakhouse, its staff, the food and the location fulfilled our dreams and beyond and gave us the most perfect wedding day that we will treasure the memories forever.

From the moment we started planning our wedding with Bri nothing was too much trouble. She helped us put our dreams into reality. With loads of emails, requests and suggestions she helped make our day personal, unique and exactly what we wanted.

On the day the staff worked so hard and Nisha created the oak room from a beautiful ceremony room to a perfect venue for our wedding breakfast and then to a perfect party room. She did everything we wanted and more and made the day run so smoothly.

Along with Tracey and Aaron they did the most amazing job of looking after us all with friendliness and professionalism throughout the whole day.

The food was soooo delicious and presented so beautifully. Kelly is an absolute asset and cooks the most amazing food!! It couldn’t have been more perfect.

The Oak was just the most perfect venue for our wedding. It was so lovely to have exclusive use, it was cosy yet spacious and truly fulfilled all our expectations and dreams. Two months later we are still buzzing from our perfect day.

When we first arrived at the venue to look around we were greeted with smiling faces and warm, attentive care. We knew as soon as we spoke to Marina that we wanted to get married there.

Throughout the process, Bri was always an email away to help solve any problems that we had. Over the course of the wedding planning we racked up around 170 emails back and fourth, but she would always reply back as soon as possible. We also met up over facetime, as well as a few face to face meetings.

Bri had a handful of suppliers at hand for anything that we needed, and she seemed extremely organised and well connected with the right people. We couldn't fault her one bit.

As for the venue, it is a beautiful place, bringing rustic country vibes, with a roaring fireplace and a beautiful ceremony room. All the staff were super helpful, including Aaron and Neesha (sorry if I got the name wrong, we only met her on the wedding day and she pretty much made the wedding a success, helping it run from start to finish!).

The food was incredible, everyone complimented how good it was. Someone even said it was the best meal they've ever had! The Chicken, pork and vegan dish went down a treat, as did the desserts that followed. Everyone loved the mini cheeseburgers and Scotch eggs as canapés! Even more so, the pizzas were amazing in the evening (pointer, I don't think this is an option they advertise, but it was a good price for 5 different pizzas and chips). The breakfast, again, amazing reviews all round, with plenty of options.

There is nothing we could of faulted. The venue and its staff made our wedding day as special as it could be, and we wouldn't of changed it.

From the moment we arrived at the venue the night before the wedding till the time we left nothing was too much. When planning our wedding the wedding planner was able to bring our vision to life, the food was amazing and our day was just perfect.

Oakhouse blew us away! From the moment we tentatively visited to have a look at the place as a venue, to when we left on the Sunday after we got married (over 2 and half years later because of Covid)! Their service, professionalism and down to earth-ness made our experience one we'll never forget. We left feeling we had extended our family and all of our guest felt the same!
They are really flexible and approachable, meaning your wedding can be all 'you'! Honestly can't recommend them enough!

What can i say?

Firstly a massive massive thank you to all the amazing staff who spent the evening before the wedding preparing the room and setting it up to look fantastic. It went way beyond our wildest expectations and looked phenomenal. I went to bed that night with no worries because i knew you all wanted it to be amazing for us. It was a very late night into the morning prepping for us to have a brilliant day. You guys rocked. It was a great evening listening to music, singing and a bit of swaying whilst everything came together.

Thank you to Kelly the chef who had to deal with last minute guest changes and meals. Kelly gave us multiple options for our guests who had intolerances and an allergy. The Oakhouse were so chilled out about this which made us relax even more.

Every meal we have had here before the wedding has been great. The food is to such a high standard no one is left feeling dissatisfied. Portion sizes are incredible.

My now mother in law has now become a regular here for meals and occasional drinks. She is always welcomed like an old friend. She loves coming back and says it was the best choice to have our wedding hosted here and this was before the wedding.

There was so much pride and love that went into our wedding, it was like working with friends and family.

On the day itself, It was amazing. Both Mel and Marina came up to the church with me helped me with my dress and made sure it laid well as i entered the church. On coming back down we were met by drinks in the square and Marina quickly dispatched my flowers into water to keep them fresh. These were displayed all evening on the reception desk so guests could see them, alongside the bridesmaids.

Kelly set up our donut tower cake which looked fantastic despite us holding it up with cello tape! (my fault) It was moved when we needed to cut it and guests assembled for us. Everything was done with no fuss made and felt effortless for us as a couple. They filled us with so much confidence that we could just relax and enjoy the day to the fullest.

The wedding breakfast was a huge success. Everyone said how great the food was and the portions were huge. The tables were beautifully laid out. So so much thought went into this from the team the night before.

There are so so many little things i could list that The Oakhouse Hotel and it’s staff did that were above and beyond that i would be here all day listing them. Things we didn’t think off but they anticipated for us. Amazeballs! The staff are brilliant, kind, funny and super helpful, plus great dancers on the night to help your guests along. Make sure your DJ plays “Summer of 69” Dancing behind the bar with them is optional though!

Dave thank you for helping our 2 guests who had disability requirements. They said you were so kind and everyone commented on you helping out Uncle Dave on the stairs and our other guest In a wheel chair. She was so delighted to be able to come and thought she wouldn’t be able to due to the different levels in the oak house. Nisha thank you for the swift execution of “the ramp” and checking on my teenagers for me during the evening. It was lovely of you to do so and for all your help over the past 2 days. Nothing was ever a bother for you and made my life so much easier and less stressful. Actually i can say there was no stress at all as it was all handled so bloody well!

Marina!! What can we say? You have been amazing throughout this entire process. your enthusiasm is contagious and your suggested changes were the right ones. Thank you for your support throughout this wedding. It took us a while to get here thanks to Covid. But It will not be forgotten and one of our most treasured memories. We did not stop smiling and laughing all day and night! Utterly brilliant and we couldn’t have done it all without your hard work and dedication. Our families and friends have said how wonderful it was and how thoroughly enjoyable it was. Every need was met in full!

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making our day so very special for us. You were our first choice and the best choice. We got everything and so much more!

Words will never justify how incredible this venue and staff are! We have had so many of our guests get in contact to say they had never been to a wedding with such kind, warm and friendly staff. From start to finish nothing was ever too much- even when we moved the wedding by a week due to Covid concerns they accommodated every single detail. We won’t ever forget our day and this is largely down to the staff and the most festive and cosiest of venues- they felt more like family by the time we reluctantly had to leave them! I am SO glad we chose this place for our wedding and the memories are truly special. From Bri calming my nerves due to Covid panics in the run ups to Dave, Marina and the girls entertaining my children! If you are planning a wedding- there can never be any better venue!

We stumbled upon the Oakhouse when looking for the perfect place to hold our “sequel” wedding celebrations following a small Covid wedding the previous year. It was everything we wanted and didn’t think we’d be able to find. We wanted a party that felt as special as a wedding, but with none of the formal stuffiness weddings often bring.

Think strawberry margarita reception drinks, a build your own nacho and taco station instead of canapés, pizzas with the most incredible toppings that we were able to name ourselves, tequila shots instead of favours and dancing the night away to the most amazing band in our very own “pub” filled with all our favourite people.

We were very specific in the brief we gave Brianna and the staff at the Oakhouse and they went above and beyond at every stage to make our dream a reality. They could not have been more accommodating or helpful during the planning stages, and on the day itself Nisha and her team looked after us and our guests with such care and attention to detail. They were simply incredible.

From start to finish the entire Oakhouse team were exceptional. The entire planning process was made so easy by the lovely Bri, nothing was too much and she had so many amazing suggestions. Our emails were responded to very quickly, meaning that we didn't get stressed.
The chef created a menu based on our very specific ideas, and everyone complemented the food on the day.
The service team are amazing. The Oakhouse truly felt like a home away from home.
The fact that you can choose everything yourself and you're not limited to set packages means that our wedding had so many special details.
The venue itself is beautiful, and has so many areas suitable for different activities. We were able to cater for all our guests because of this.

From the first visit to the Oakhouse we felt welcomed, and at easy by the manager and by Bri the planner. Bri was out of this world going above and beyond with all the planning and arrangements right up to the day of our wedding, answering our problems and questions with rapid response, despite the time of day or night. The food was great, staff were wonderful and Kellie, who was in charge on the day was incredible, even when problems arose (our mess up) Kellie and her crew were great in fixing it without any qualms. I would highly recommend the Oakhouse Hotel as a venue to hold a party, engagement or wedding . All I can say is the stress was taken out at the drop of a hat, our day flowed perfectly, and we smiled and laughed all day. Only downside was the day went so quickly as we had the most wonderful wedding, as my husband said “ it was the best day of his life”. The venue is situated in a beautiful picturesque village, we would love to come back and celebrate our wedding on our Anniversary every year.

My wife Lyn & I stayed overnight at the Oakhouse as guests celebrating Hayley & Adam’s recent wedding and we just wanted to say what a fantastic time we had. The venue is really welcoming in a quaint ideal village setting, with helpful and dedicated staff who clearly work hard and enjoy what they do. Great food and service! My brother and best friend got married at this venue and it was exceptional from start to finish . The team looked after everyone and took care of all needs . So relaxed and calm a great little gem to get married in or any other function .
