The Observatory Science Centre is a unique wedding venue located in Hailsham, in England's East Sussex region. If you've been searching for an out-of-this-world spot to say 'I do,' fall in love with this world-famous observatory offering its domes for ceremonies beneath the stars.

Facilities and Capacity

Celebrations with up to 60 guests can ascend to one of the marvellous domes at The Observatory Science Centre. Day or night, the domes offer a once-in-a-lifetime backdrop for exchanging vows, followed by a sunset photoshoot. The venue's lawns are ideal for an evening reception and can accommodate two marquees.

Services Offered

If the weather behaves, couples can also invite their guests to gaze at the night's sky during a private tour and revel in the galaxy's many wonders.

Unique, beautiful venue

Natasha and the team are incredible and we had the most wonderful wonderful day, we will treasure it for ever. The venue is stunning, and we’ve have had so many comments on how unusual and special it was, the ceremony was beautiful, the reception stunning and the evening space was perfect for our band. Nothing was too much trouble from day one, we had so much fun planning our wedding, it honestly felt like planning with friends - a truly special venue.

The most fantastic day!

Our wedding at the Observatory was a day to remember!
From the day of booking, to clearing up the day after, communication was fantastic and organised every step of the way.
Natasha was a pleasure to work with too. She so approachable, relaxed and accommodating. She had very useful suggestions and ideas that made the whole experience so much fun.

The most amazing venue!

We got married at the Observatory in July 2022 (and were their first full wedding) and the whole experience was an absolute delight from start to finish. Natasha was so helpful in every aspect of the planning and running on the day - so organised, but also reassuring and calming every time we were panicking about suppliers or external things not going quite to plan! We hired an astronomer to do stargazing in the evening which our guests loved. All the science activities kept all the kids happy all day long! It’s just the most unique, amazing wedding venue and we can’t recommend it highly enough.
