The Old School Rooms is a historic wedding venue nestled in the heart of the Golden Heritage Cluster in Middleton, Manchester. It's part of a grade II-listed complex designed in the late 19th century by architect Edgar Wood. This visionary created some of the most exciting architecture of the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. Today, this venue is the perfect choice for those dreaming of a rustic barn wedding but with an added touch of vintage grandeur.
Facilities and Capacity
The Old School Rooms blend rustic arts and crafts and elegant art nouveau and are a must-see for architecture lovers. The site attracts visitors from around the world. The main hall can comfortably accommodate up to 150 guests alongside a separate ceremony room registered to host your civil marriage or blessing. Both are set around a beautiful private courtyard garden, ideal for summertime drinks receptions or evening BBQs. The main hall boasts an original late victorian stage ideal for live evening entertainment. An impressive choir loft accessed from outside the hall invites surprise performances. Middleton Methodist Church is attached to the complex and forms one side of the courtyard, with access directly to the School Rooms via internal corridors. Marriage ceremonies at the church itself are possible in consultation with the vicar.
