We wanted a small, no fuss wedding and to find a venue that had great space but also felt intimate for our small party of guests. We love Greenwich, so to find The Oyster Catcher with walking distance from the main attractions in Greenwich, along with the amazing views of London and the Thames we fell in love with it straight away. Laura is an amazing events organiser, she ensures everything is well communicated and food tasting is arranged in advance. The upstairs space in the venue was great for what we wanted, table space for food, but a space for welcome drinks and of course dancing after dinner. If you are looking for a venue that is chilled, great value for money and no stress involved then this is your place. Laura and the team did everything for us on the day with set up and such amazing service, all our guests loved the food and said what amazing staff the venue had! We honestly cant thank you enough for making our day so perfect and hosting our wedding.

Having worked a lot of weddings ourselves we were determined to plan our wedding to be a little bit different. We loved the idea of having something easy and simple, but also that reflected our personalities and The Oystercatcher was the perfect match. The floor-to-ceiling windows, open-plan seating and chic decor made it an ideal setting for our wedding. The view of the city was sensational and the food was utterly sublime.
We had a really great experience working with Laura - she made the logistics really easy and never put pressure on us to do something we didn’t feel would fit our wedding. We and our guests were really well looked after by the staff at the Oystercatcher and we loved being able to add our wedding logo on to the top of our welcome cocktails!
It felt really special to have the whole venue booked out for our event and in the evening our guests enjoyed the flexibility of being outside watching the view, upstairs enjoying some quiet space, or downstairs dancing with our incredible 7-piece band.
We got a bit frustrated by was the minimum spends - make sure you fully understand this before booking to know how it will impact your booking. We also booked under the principle we could have more seated guests than was actually possible which did through a spanner in the works…
We’ll be back to visit The Oystercatcher for many date nights, but in the meantime we would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of hosting their wedding there!

We had our wedding at the Oystercatcher in August 2023. We used to live in Greenwich and love being by the river, so the location was spot on. The first floor has floor to ceiling windows with views up and down the Thames. We had eaten at the Oystercatcher several times previously and really liked the food, so that was another reason we chose it. On a very practical note, we needed a venue that was wheelchair accessible as some of our family have mobility issues.
We originally booked for quite a small party, around 40 guests for the wedding breakfast. As our plans developed, we added more guests for the evening, but Laura (the Events Manager) was always flexible and open to changes.
We had a great tasting session, and Laura was happy to schedule it at a time that worked for us as the usual evening time didn't really suit due to childcare issues.
I really liked working with Laura as the way she planned timings and the order of the day was exactly how I would plan things in other situations.
On the day, the venue looked fabulous, thanks to Laura and the team, combined with our amazing florist Joanne Truby's work.
Service was great and the food was delicious. The only issue was the fish main course that we had ordered - having tried it in the tasting session -came out looking very different.
It was a great venue for the evening as well - it felt like a great party. One end of the 1st floor was turned into a small dance floor with the DJ and a photo booth beside it. Would definitely recommend for a relaxed wedding in London with great food, drink and views of the river!

We knew we wanted different for our wedding, and what better way to celebrate than getting everyone you love together in a pub! We had eaten at The Oystercatcher many times, and it was one of our favourite spots, so an easy choice for our reception. From the initial conversation to the days following our Big Day, Laura and the team were nothing but attentive, helpful and so kind! The food was amazing and the service was second to none!! All of our guests commented on how brilliant the team were, and they truly felt like an extension of our day! I would definitely recommend The Oystercatcher for a perfect London wedding!

We hosted our wedding at the Oystercatcher and it was fantastic. The customer service from the front of house and the events team was nothing short of excellent all through our planning and on the day itself. The food was delicious and our guests commented that it was much better than wedding food can be often be when serving on a large scale, everything was hot and cooked to perfection. The venue itself is so beautiful with amazing views across the river and beautiful greenery which made it so easy to dress the space. Our guests and photographer loved the views and they make for beautiful wedding photos. Overall we had the best experience with the oystercatcher and would thoroughly recommend them.

We recently had our engagement brunch at the Oystercatcher. The Manager Paul and waitress were a 10/10. Despite a bit of miscommunication with the organisation team regarding our table but the organisation on the day was outstanding. Paul made sure we had a day to never forget and sorted it all out. The service was amazing considering we had a large group, all the food was served correctly and the table was constantly cleared. We were an energetic bunch and they accommodated all our family and friends. It was a classy and happy day overall, with brilliant location and views, as well as the Menu options. We would like to thank the restaurant for accommodating us all and ensuring a lifetime of memories and making our day ! A Big thank you to the whole Team. I highly recommend the Oystercatcher for any Occasion or Event. No matter how small or big.

We had the most amazing wedding at the Oystercatcher and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

From the inital planning stages, I felt confident that the team knew what they were doing and would be able to deliver an excellent day without much stress on our part. Laura is all over the detail and has sensible and helpful suggestions. She plans everything down to the minute and I just had no concerns in the lead up that everything wouldn't go to plan. Which says a lot when I'm naturally an anxious person!

On the day, the team just excelled. They liaised with all the suppliers and laid out all our decorations, so that we could just relax. No ask was too much.

We had a gloriously sunny May day, which made the setting just incredible. Drinks outside went down a treat and the canapés were super generous (which is definitely a theme on the food front).

We have had so many compliments on the food from guests. We've been to a lot of weddings, and mass catering is tricky to get right. We had c. 80 guests and every meal was meticulously prepared and delivered. Not to mention generous and delicious. I was so impressed with the organisation of the serving staff. The team were also really helpful in catering to dietary requirements.

I can't end without mentioning the staff. Every staff member working genuinely looked like they were really enjoying themselves and could not have been more helpful. I remember talking to the person who served me and my husband our meals, and she was so happy that she "got to serve the bride and groom". Everyone had big smiles on their faces and really helped with the relaxed, joy filled vibe we were going for.

If you fancy a wedding with a bit of a difference, a personal touch, a fantastic venue and backdrop, delicious food and lovely staff, you're looking at the right place!

Thank you to everyone at the Oystercatcher- you gave us a day we'll never forget. We'll be back for some more delicious food on our anniversary next year!

We arranged a very small informal lunch at the Oyster Catcher following our friends' wedding, the manager could not have been more helpful in allowing us to decorate the table and placing us in a table with a wonderful view where we could enjoy the afternoon , the service on the day was second to none and I would absolutely recommend the restaurant to anyone thinking of booking it for their wedding celebrations

We had such a beautiful and perfect wedding day starting at the Admiral Hardy for the ceremony and then The Oystercatcher for our wedding breakfast and party.
Tom and Ollie especially were fabulous but the rest of the staff were so professional and courteous to us and all of our guests. We had many guests mention to us on the day just how lovely the staff were.
If you’re thinking of The Oystercatcher for your wedding venue, you will not be disappointed.
Also the views of the Thames were spectacular for photographs and the outside heated seating area were a hit for our guests.

Wow, an exceptional venue with exceptional staff. We had our wedding reception at The Oystercatcher in June 2023 and were blown away with the level of service we received right from the beginning of planning, at the tasting evening and on the day. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how attentive the staff were, nothing was too much trouble for them. We loved that we could rent the whole venue too and we would highly recommend to anyone.

We honestly don't know where to start. Everything was absolutely amazing and surpassed all our expectations. From the initial meetings and emails to the tiny details to the logistics of the day to the food and staff and beyond - everything was outstanding. The team went above and beyond before, during and after the day to make it perfect for us. Their communication and willingness to be flexible so that we had the day we wanted was amazing. The venue (especially on a summer's day) was spectacular, with views across the river and all the glass doors open - it was a magical day. The team on the day were so professional, friendly, kind and literally couldn't have done more for us. We had lots of space for dancing and they were really helpful with liaising with our band and dj. Zoe and Tom were always honest with what they thought was possible and delivered the best day - they were so committed to it and were there for us the whole day, making sure everything ran smoothly. The food was incredible and all our guests loved the options - especially for vegans and vegetarians! The drinks station for reception drinks was a fabulous touch and we loved how they had set up the venue beforehand. I couldn't recommend The Oystercatcher enough - you could make it as formal or as informal as you like, which I think is really special about this place. I wish I could do it all over again. Absolute gem! Laura, Tom and the onsite team were amazing and accommodating and we value their expertise and advice to help us make our wedding experience the most memorable event and really made the planning a little easier! Ourselves and our guests loved the feel and ambience of the restaurant and the views of the River Thames. Of course the food was delicious and customer service was on point so much so that we will be back to enjoy the rest of their offerings 😊

We can't praise the Oystercatcher enough and could not have asked for more, from the initial enquiry all the way to the staff helping us carry leftover cake to our front door.

We had never organised an event (or wedding) before and the manager and his team took everything in hand - full of ideas and also flexible and good humoured about every random idea and request we had. They also worked directly with our florist which was invaluable. The level of care and attention was genuinely heartwarming and knowing that the reception was taken care of and in such good hands meant there was minimal stress in the lead up to the wedding.

The venue itself has a beautiful riverfront setting with an outdoor terrace and being on two floors meant we could have a champagne and canape reception downstairs before moving upstairs for a more formal dinner followed by music and dancing. Upstairs in particular has a spectacular view of the city which only got better as the sun went down and everything else lit up. It created a wonderful atmosphere for the guests, many of whom have subsequently been back for dinner.

Regarding food, we had multiple tastings and help putting together a menu with enough choices to accommodate the usual dietary requirements of the guests and also to come within our budget. The quality and generosity of the food was exceptional and just as good on the day as during the tastings. The wines were served at perfect temperatures and the staff did everything with grace and style. Multiple guests commented that the attitude of the staff enhanced the joy of the day and we absolutely agree.

We can't recommend the Oystercatcher highly enough and consider ourselves fortunate to have chosen them for our wedding.
