The Plough and Barn at Leigh is a unique wedding venue located near Tonbridge in West Kent, surrounded by countryside. The 16th century inn and 17th century rustic event barn boast the most beautiful views in a tranquil location. While you can enjoy the peace of the rural location in The Garden of England, the venue is conveniently located near the motorway network, perfect for your traveling guests.
Facilities and Capacity
The Plough and Barn has preserved many of its original features, most notably the striking wooden beams. The spacious barn also boasts a minstrels’ gallery and wood-burning stoves to create a peaceful and warm atmosphere in the winter months. The Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies and can accommodate up to 150 guests during the summer months and 130 during the winter for your romantic service and following wedding breakfast. The barn is also great for your evening reception, the exclusive use of the garden, barn and pub being suitable for 180 guests to celebrate into the night. The property's hedgerow gazebo makes an ideal sunny setting for your spring and summer ceremony giving the occasion a possible boho flair.

The perfect venue!
“We had our wedding at this beautiful barn venue, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. From the start, Becky, Della, and the team was attentive, professional, and genuinely caring, making sure every detail was perfect for our big day. They went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and keep our wedding day running smoothly.
The venue itself is stunning—rustic charm and the fact we could decorate it to match our theme was fantastic!
And the food—just wow! Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, fresh, and bursting with flavor. From appetizers to the main course, everything was delicious, and there was something for everyone to enjoy. It’s clear that a lot of care and skill went into the catering.
Thank you to the entire team for making our wedding day unforgettable. We’ll always cherish the memories made here

A perfect wedding day!!!
My husband and I had our wedding at the Plough in August this year and we just had the most amazing day!! All the staff made us feel at ease and were so helpful from the beginning.
Everyone who came to the day commented on how lovely the staff were and how tasty the food was! We used the house DJ and CS creative events to decorate the venue and we couldn’t fault them, again, everything was just amazing. If you are thinking of having your wedding here I would highly recommend the Plough. It really was just everything we could of asked for.. thank you to the Plough for being a big part of our story xxx

The perfect venue with the perfect team
Della, Becky and the team at The Plough made everything look effortless. They were incredibly accommodating to all our requests and made us feel very relaxed and well looked after throughout all our planning.
We were in complete awe of the smooth running behind the scenes on our actual day. Everything was set up and ran exactly how we'd imagined.
There aren't words to express how perfect it was. They really are the dream team and we can't wait to go back for a visit!

Excellent Venue
Got married at The Plough in August 2023. Fabulous venue, everything looked fantastic and the staff really listened and executed exactly what we wanted. A highlight was definitely the food, everything was delicious. Everyone has been telling us how lovely the wedding was and what a good time they had. We would definitely recommend.

Amazing Experience!
We had the absolute best Wedding Day and this was, in large part, to the work of the amazing staff at The Plough and Barn. From our first meeting with Hazel, to many emails exchanged with Della and Becky, and the commitment of all the staff on the day, we highly appreciated it all.
We loved the venue from when we first saw it and our guests are still talking about what a brilliant venue it is. We loved the different areas and the casual but formal feel. It fitted us and what we wanted perfectly! We're so glad the weather was kind to us and we were able to get married outside, and enjoy the garden for so much of the day. The set up in The Barn was exactly as we (eventually) imagined. Della was so patient while we decided on this!
The food was vitally important to us and they delivered exceptionally well. They listened and adjusted to all our requests - the pinchos were delicious, the pork and crackling melted in the mouth, the salads were exactly what we wanted and the cheese went down a storm both on Saturday and for many days afterwards. The Signature Drinks proved very popular so thank you also to Darren for taking the time to get the Caipirihna's right!

Absolutely perfect
We just had our wedding here and it was absolutely sensational. The team went above and beyond to ensure the day went without a hitch. They did everything possible to make the day super special. From the decorations to the emotional support be, they managed and supported it all! Della and the team are simply wonderful to deal with, I couldn’t recommend this venue more.

Couldn’t fault! Amazing from the beginning to the very end
The whole team at the plough were amazing. Myself & every guest were amazed at how perfect my wedding day went. I couldn’t say one bad or negative thing about my wedding day thanks to the plough. The staff are so professional & friendly, helping my day run smoothly. Highly recommend!

The perfect day! Stunning venue and amazing team
You simply can't fault The Plough, from the first time I visited I was blown away by the fantastic team and stunning venue.
I was looking for a rustic but elegant barn vibe and from the beginning, the team understood my vision and helped bring it all to life. I even had some odd requests (as my husband is Guatemalan so we wanted to bring his culture into the day) and the team exceeded all expectations, our guests were blown away.
The food at The Plough is also exceptional, all of our guests commented how fantastic it was (nothing like your usual, often dry wedding food!), we had the slow-cooked beef for mains and it was mouth-watering.
On the day, the whole Plough team were outstanding, they were friendly and warm and so efficient. I couldn't believe how quickly they set up the room!
I cannot recommend The Plough enough, you will be in such trusted hands and you know your day will run smoothly and beautifully.

Our amazing wedding
We finally had our wedding day at the Plough on 22/10/21, after several postponements due to COVID. Hazel was on hand throughout all the years of planning to answer any questions and was incredibly supportive and flexible when we needed to postpone. Nothing was too much and Hazel always got back to us promptly. Della, Becky & the team were also amazing in the lead up to and on the day. I had such a relaxing day because I trusted the team so much. Staff on the day were fab. The food was seriously good - we had so many compliments on the food. Delicious and hot. The barn is so welcoming and the pub warm and cosy, it was just the perfect venue for us. Would defo recommend to anyone looking for a barn venue in Kent. Thank you again to the team and we look forward to visiting the pub again soon!

💕Our perfect magical day 💕
We just got married here and I can’t recommend it enough. Great location, an absolutely beautiful barn inside (there natural look of the barn was just gorgeous there wasn’t need yo go over the top with decorations, just minimal ones to compliment it and outside in the garden area, was great so much space, there was no child left running riot because their time was filled with so many activities due to the amount of space,plenty of parking, beautiful view. It was my dream venue and I’m in love with it. the manager, and her team were amazing and was so helpful the entire way through. They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to you. We had previously had to postpone due to covid but it was defiantly worth the wait and whole experience of getting married, and it was something everybody enjoyed. Especially after all the lockdown and emotions and craziness we was al so greatful that it was finally able to ahead and happen. The day was the best day of our life 💕💕 truely perfect!!

The most perfect day
If you’re considering The Plough as a potential venue for your wedding then I advise you to book it. We got married on the 25th September 2021 after postponing for a year due to COVID and the whole process was smooth and easy. Hazel and her team are so professional at what they do and make your wedding feel so unique and special.
We have had countless compliments from our guests on the venue and also on the food. We went for the hog roast… it was fantastic!
Thank you to the Plough for making our day so special, I just wish we could do it all again !

Our perfect wedding day
What can i say we finally had our dream wedding at The Plough and Barn on the 8th July. This was our 3rd date due to Covid and Hazel calmly professionally helped us reschedule with excellent communication. The day could not have been any better we where looked after so well by all off the team especially Becky from start to finish. They accommodated every request and i just got to relax on the day knowing it was all taken care of. We where so lucky to get married outside in the beautiful gazebo, have a lovely day outside in the sunshine playing garden games. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the food and drink was amazing and plentiful. Thanks again Mr & Mrs Oliver

Unflappable consummate professionals
The Plough were incredible from start to finish. Originally booked out wedding in 2020 but had to be postponed due to covid. We rescheduled for a year later and they were so accommodating and flexible. Hazel, Della, Mick and the team made our day just magical and were just a pleasure to liaise with. Covid made me incredibly anxious but after every meeting they made me feel so much better about getting married with them. Can't fault them.
