The Stables Wedding Farm is a rustic yet elegant outdoor wedding venue in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Set on the Slackfield farm, its 18th-century farmhouse provides an enchanting backdrop for your celebration. Nestled in the peaceful countryside, the farm offers the tranquillity of beautifully kept gardens and 10 acres of scenic grounds. With picturesque views of rolling hills, this setting is perfect for rustic and romantic weddings.
Facilities and Capacity
The Stables welcomes wedding parties of 60 to 200 guests. A festoon-lit pathway guides guests from the venue’s private, off-road parking to the main event space. This area includes a large, flat section of artificial grass, perfect for hosting your ceremony. The venue is licenced to hold civil ceremonies, allowing couples to exchange vows on this charming backdrop. The space links directly to your marquee (or marquees), which you can hire from the venue. The area also offers an open celebration space set around a heart-shaped feature pond. Here you will find artificial grass and picnic benches, creating a serene setting for drinks receptions in the sun or under the stars. The historic farmhouse is available for photography. Its traditional architecture and menagerie of animals make for spectacular wedding pictures. The venue invites couples to stay the night in their self-catering Hobbit House, which includes a private six-seater hot tub. The staff would be delighted to recommend nearby accommodation options for your guests.

Magical setting combined with excellent customer service!
You couldn't ask for anything more1
The venue itself is gorgeous set in the Saddleworth Hills and we had full rein of the venue for the full weekend. We could decorate it how we like and could make any finishing touches.
They make you feel part of their family (by welcoming you into their home) and this made the whole experience more personal and less stressful for us. You can tell they are proud of what they do, and have created, and want you to have the best wedding day possible.
You couldn't ask for anything more from the SWF!

We cannot recommend the stables wedding farm enough. If you want stress free wedding planning in the most stunning location then look no further!
From our initial booking right up to the big day Mark, Debb and the team were fabulous. We always felt relaxed and confident knowing that everything was taken care of from liaising with all our suppliers to making sure every last detail was taken care of so we could enjoy ourselves thoroughly. Nothing was ever too much effort and all the staff were smartly dressed and so professional throughout.
The location is stunning with views across the valley and hills. The photo opportunities are endless with trees, secluded spots and romantic pond.
There is a gold buggy that transports guests around the venue and my goodness did our guests enjoy it! Free entertainment and fabulous photo opportunities!
We enjoyed the huge marquee which had ample space for at least 12 large tables and a huge dance floor which could accommodate all our guests. There are provisions for bad weather so no bride would need to worry and the facilities on offer are of a high quality standard.
We slept in one of the on site hobbit houses with family staying in the others. They are super, so cosy with all the mod cons. Relaxing in the hot tub was perfect end to the most perfect of days.
Since our wedding we have had such amazing feedback from suppliers and guests of which many have mentioned it was the best wedding ever… of course we are biased but we truly believe it was!
We cannot recommend this venue enough and Mark & Debb will always remain great friends of ours!
The most perfect wedding venue
The best day ever
You really feel special when having a wedding at The Stables, as they don’t have weddings each day every weekend, you don’t feel like your on a convey belt of couples getting married, they can name each couple who have gotten married there, what date, how they dressed the venue, the band they had, their theme, everything! It’s so personal to each couple and I absolutely love that. It really set them apart from other venues we saw.
Not only are Mark and Deborah amazing, the venue itself is as well. The views you get there, as well as the picture opportunities are beautiful, our wedding was outside and the venue really made it. Even if it rains, they have plans in place for that by putting up a Perspex end, which doesn’t take away from the views at all! Luckily our wedding was on a hot day in day, but even if it rained, it still would have been the best day.
From beginning to end, the entire experience was amazing, and we couldn’t thank mark and Deborah enough for making our day so special, they deserve all the awards they are nominated for and more!

I was so emotional when it was all over, because we were no longer in regular contact with the hosts and part of the venue...
So we went back a couple of months later and plan to keeps visiting!

Perfect venue with a view
Wouldn’t have gotten married anywhere else!
We first viewed the venue just after Covid, it was just getting started and we knew then it was perfect for us!
The views of Saddleworth are sublime, the location really couldn’t be anymore perfect.
Nothing we asked was too much trouble, no idea was shot down, no question ignored- from start to finish we were made to feel like our wedding was important and special!
The day itself was so stress free and easy and that was down to the staff at the Stables being so easy and unstressed!
I honestly wish we could do it all again just to spend more time up there, we are so happy to be part of the stables fam x
