Located in Ilfracombe, Devon, in southwest England, The Venue at Sandy Cove offers a unique setting to host wedding events. This contemporary and secluded venue boasts dramatic and stunning sea views. Set in its own cove at the top of the cliff, it is the ultimate wedding venue. The property is surrounded by beautiful beaches such as Broadsands, Combe Martin, Watermouth Cove, and Hele. All within a five-minute drive, these provide incredible photo opportunities for newlyweds.
Facilities and Capacity
The Venue at Sandy Cove is fully licensed for wedding ceremonies, both inside and in the amazing cliff-top gazebo with a Sky Walk Platform. Here, your guests will sit facing the sea amphitheatre-style to witness you taking your vows. The Sky Walk Platform is wrapped in glass and provides an incredible place for photos after you are married. State-of-the-art lighting with a colour wheel allows couples to tailor the lighting to fit their colour scheme, and the Lutron panel controls mood lighting. The ceiling has panels with fibre optic lights giving the effect of twinkling stars. There is also a fully integrated sound system with built-in microphones for speeches in this fully air-conditioned and ventilated venue. The amazing sea views are brought inside by the bi-fold glass doors which run along the full front of the building. The spacious deck provides a tranquil space for guests to relax on, enabling them to soak up the breathtaking scenery surrounding the celebration.

Stunning wedding venue
We just got married at the Sandy Cove on the 9th September, from arrival and throughout, we cannot fault any of the staff, wedding staff and hotel staff. The hotel was clean, and staff were very attentive and friendly. Our wedding team were absolutely amazing, a big shout out to Nadine, Dawn and Kelly, who made our day extra special, and were constantly in touch from booking, right up until the day, ensuring we felt comfortable with how the day would go. We couldn't have asked for a better venue, having such amazing views, and will definitely be back to stay again. Anyone debating to book this as your venue, don't question it, you will not be disappointed!

What an incredible day!
The staff were brilliant! Communication was fantastic and they were really flexible with changes and late additions. The wedding coordinators did a fantastic job, the day ran so smoothly and we didn't need to worry about anything! All the staff were so friendly and could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Everyone had an amazing day! We couldn't have asked for any more!

Fantastic hotel with breathtaking views.
We are not local to Devon but as soon as we found this hotel online we knew it was the one for us and it did not disappoint. The views were breathtaking and the hotel was exceptional. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly but an extra special thank you to Sammie, Nadine, Dawn and Kelly who organised and coordinated our special day. We would encourage anyone thinking about getting married at this hotel venue not to hesitate. Xx

Every member of staff I came in contact with!
I wanted to say another special to all the amazing staff who made the day so magical. The gorgeous reception staff on check in, to Micheal and those who set up our gorgeous tables, Chloe our co ordinator! For being so brilliant and nothing being too much trouble. We did end up going to meet the registrars a bit behind schedule but because my Dad came and surprised me and my sisters with a gift from my late Nan. Chloe was so amazingly respectful letting my Dad have his moment with us - as sorry as I am for it pushing us behind slightly - so thank you for that Chloe. Thank you for being so patient with my million questions! And for making me feel so at ease and so comfortable - that’s to you as well Sammy! Thank you to the bar staff that evening, we had so many people celebrating with us and they definately took up residence at the bar so thank you for working so incredibly hard. Thank you for those who helped move our belongings from room to room and helped us try square everything away at the end of the evening as quickly as possible! Thank you to Glen (please tell me I remembered his name)! the restaurant manager for accommodating our bridal breakfast and for Lisa who looked after us that morning. Thank you to Jess for being so patient with my table plans! And finally thank you to Dawn who I do refer to as my fairy godmother for making all this happen. We had a couple of hiccups in the morning with make up artists not turning up and bouquets being wrong but all I remember is the full on magic at Sandy Cove. The most amazing venue and honestly the most incredibly welcoming staff throughout. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

Absolutely fantastic venue
We had the most amazing wedding at The Sandy Cove Hotel with over 140 guests. The staff were all very professional and helpful and the day went so smoothly without a hitch.
The views were breathtaking and as you can see from the photos, we were particularly lucky with the weather!
We had so many people say it was the best wedding they had ever attended.
We would highly recommend getting married at The Sandy Cove Hotel. It was the best day of our lives and we will remember it forever! ❤️❤️

Couldn’t recommend a better wedding venue!
The location was exceptional. The staff were really friendly and helpful, making it easy for us on the day so it was stress free. We’ve had multiple compliments on the food from guests.

Exclusive Use Wedding at Sandy Cove 18.03.23
We had our wedding at Sandy Cove on 18th March. We had exclusive use of the hotel so ourselves and most of our guests stayed there the night before which was the best idea as it gives you more time to spend with your friends and family as you don’t get as much time with everyone during your wedding day. Our wedding day was perfect, we couldn’t fault it. The weather stayed dry luckily which meant we were able to get married outside which is what we were really hoping for! The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Our wedding coordinator Sammie made our day run smoothly! The rooms were comfortable and the views from the venue and some of the rooms are insane. Ourselves and our guests loved all of the food as well. We couldn’t fault our stay and our wedding day, would highly recommend. Thank you Sandy Cove for an unforgettable day, we hope to be back for our anniversary next year!

The most perfect extended wedding weekend.
I cannot recommend Sandy cove hotel and venue enough.
Our wedding day was absolutely perfect from start to finish.
We had a lot of family stay for a long weekend including our little Pup, and nothing was too much trouble.
Rooms were fantastic and the views speak for themselves. Breakfast was amazing every single morning.
We also ate for lunch and dinner here during the stay and it was delicious.
Our wedding day was so perfect. The wedding coordinator Jess made sure everything was taken care of to ensure the day went smoothly. Jackie took over in the evening and was fantastic. The food was incredible. There wasn’t a moment in my day when I was worried and I can’t thank the venue staff enough.

Sandy Cove Venue highly recommend - Sandy Cove Hotel I would not recommend staying at
The Venue was perfect!
The location is in such a gorgeous place overlooking the ocean and cliffs. We had a beautiful sunshiny day and it was just perfect. We had our ceremony outside and it was beautiful. The way everything was laid out was lovely and personalised.
The actual Venue itself was gorgeous. It was clean, spacious and well organised. The staff at the Venue were really kind and had good communication. They were organised and knew exactly what they were doing.
The food was of high-quality standard, best meal I think I've ever had.
To reiterate my title the Venue was PERFECT. However....
The staff that I communicated with to organise my special day were not as great. I had to repeat myself a lot and it took quite a while for them to get back to me about certain things. One member of staff also swore down the phone at my Mum..... I got the feeling that they didn't seem to know what they were doing....
To sum up I would highly recommend Sandy Cove Venue. Just be careful about the wedding organisers and prepare to repeat yourself!

Amazing wedding day and stunning venue
Me and my now wife had a fantastic wedding at Sandy Cove on the 12th of July. We had an outdoor ceremony, despite torrential rain the day before and some rather black clouds on the morning of our wedding. Luckily, the venue do not have to make a decision on where to hold the ceremony (in or out) until about an hour before. Thankfully for us, the clouds cleared and the sun came belting down!
Dawn, Kelly & the rest of her team made every effort to make our day as wonderful as possible and were instrumental in getting us the day we wanted despite Covid throwing restrictions at us left, right and centre. They were responsive throughout, more so in the weeks leading up to the big day, the reception team kept smiles on their faces, despite being moaned at and criticised for no good reason, by some rather idiotic customers (not from our wedding party I might add) and our coordinator (Lisa) and the night manager (Chris) kept the day running like clockwork!
The award-winning food was delicious, and a number of "foodie" guests commented on how it was the best wedding food they have ever eaten, a statement echoed by al other guests. We did want the BBQ but were told we could not have this, as it was buffet style and Covid/Boris would not allow it. We were gutted about this, but it wasn't the venues' fault and to be honest, probably worked out for the best, for the reasons stated above!
If you are looking for a venue with a wow factor, by wow I mean stunning views, amazing staff, award winning food, close by nature walks, beaches on your doorstep, large capacity, fantastic indoor & outdoor ceremony options, good decor (where the colour scheme can be chosen by you) and so on, then you really do not need to look any further... Sandy Cove have you covered!
