The William Cecil was the only venue we needed to look at. It had such beautifully kept grounds to accommodate what was our outdoor wedding (in May), and up to the last second they were so communicative about possible alternatives if the weather turned and it needed to be moved indoors for the ceremony to take place. The staff were a delight to work with, most notably Amy, our planner, and Fran, who coordinated the latter half of the day. They helped so much to guide us through the day when moving for the reception, speeches, to going inside for the evening and dances, etc. They were always on call throughout the planning process if we had any questions or concerns, and it really helped to take the stress off our shoulders to know they were so professional and easy to talk to. The rooms were lovely and the local setting on Stamford is something our guests still talk about to this day. The William Cecil and its amenities really helped us to not worry about the decorations, as already so much was done for us by it's wonderful layout, that we could really focus on putting our personal stamp on the day, and leave wonderful lasting memories for everyone including ourselves. Amy was brilliant too about suggesting suppliers that they have worked with so that we weren't having to worry about sourcing all of that ourselves. The suppliers too were such amazing people to be working with on the day, and it couldn't have gone better. Stamford Flowers really heard us when we were putting our orders in and knew just how to go the extra mile with suggestions, while being easy to talk to and calming. Michaela from Boho Bridal was a fantastic recommendation too, and another local supplier which made it come together much better. Again, everyone helped to listen to what we wanted and knew how to elevate it or link it all together, while not stifling our ideas. We felt so supported throughout and we couldn't have asked for it to go any better. A real testament to the William Cecil wedding team! We had such a fantastic wedding day at the William Cecil. It was the first venue we looked at and we quickly knew it was where we wanted to get married. The venue is beautifully situated and we were lucky to have great weather to have our ceremony in the pretty gardens. The alternative ceremony room indoors also would have been great. The staff were so friendly and everything so well organised. Accommodation is of high standard and were able to book out all rooms for our wedding night for our guests. The food also exceeded our expectations. Our guests commented on how much of a great venue it was. We were so pleased with how the day went.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we booked until the end of our special day, everything was handled with care and professionalism. The booking process was seamless, and the team was incredibly helpful, always willing to answer our questions and accommodate our requests. (There was a lot)

On the day of the wedding, the venue was absolutely stunning. We had full use of the entire space, allowing us to tailor every part of our day exactly how we envisioned it. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and their attention to detail made a world of difference.

The only minor challenge we faced was that the wedding planner worked part-time, which meant we had to juggle our schedules a bit to fit in appointments. However, they were always very flexible and did their best to accommodate us whenever possible, so it didn’t affect our overall experience.

From the beautiful decor to the excellent facilities, our guests were all raving about how gorgeous the venue was. We truly felt like we had the venue all to ourselves, giving us privacy and an intimate atmosphere that made the day feel even more special.

If you're looking for a venue that offers not only a great location but also a team that genuinely cares about making your day perfect, this is it. We Highly recommend!

The venue is stunning, full of character and charm. In a great location in the beautiful town of Stamford. The team are brilliant and enabled us to personalise the wedding to us, our tastes and ideas. The food was delicious and the highest quality. The same can be said for the drinks! Guests commented it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We had the most perfect day and couldn’t be happier! The bridal suite is just WOW! Can’t fault anything about the venue, we have nothing but praise and wish we could do it all over again!

We had the most amazing wedding day at The William Cecil, the date had been changed a couple of times due to COVID but the venue where amazing! We still can’t believe how perfect our day was from start to finish, the team at the venue gave outstanding service to us and our guests. We can’t thank them enough, our guests had the best day too, and are still commenting on how great it was. It means the world to us.

My son and his wife chose the William Cecil for their wedding reception. Everything about their reception and the hotel was abso;utely beautiful. The marquis, gardens, hotel interior, food and service were all wonderful. The staff are a credit to the hotel.

Firstly, Amy and her team are absolutely amazing and were so helpful throughout the whole planning process, responding to emails promptly, making necessary adjustments and on the day they were just brilliant.

The venue is stunning. All the rooms are finished to an amazing standard, the bridal suite in particular is a sight to behold! We got married outside on the lawns, and luckily the weather was perfect so it looked even more stunning.

The food is brilliant as well, we had the ham hock terrine, roasted chicken, and fruit pavlova. It was delicious and all our guests thought so as well!

We could not recommend the William Cecil Hotel enough, friendly staff, a stunning venue and just all round good vibes. We’re so lucky we found this venue, it was everything we wanted!

A beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds. The rooms are spectacular, especially the bridal suite which is totally amazing! We had the sunday roast dinner for our wedding dinner as our wedding was on a Sunday, the food was beyond expectations and everyone loved it! The most outstanding feature was the customer service we received throughout our 3 day stay. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and they certainly went above and beyond to make us feel at ease. Everyone was so kind and caring and really looked after us all so well. Highly recommended - don't look anywhere else !

We recently got ‘hitched’ on NYE and chose The William Cecil because of their desire to help make our wedding the very best day possible!

They catered for all of our needs - increased number of guests, dietary requirements, full use of the hotel and bedrooms, confetti cannons, greek plate smashing ceremony - you name it.

Everything was made possible and everyone we dealt with was fantastic - Amy, Sergio, Laura and all of their great team helpful team!

They also helped with recommendations for other suppliers and on the day there was no stress!

Amy was so helpful at organising our day and it was absolutely perfect! We had so many comments about how nice the food was and the chef worked with us to produce our dishes of choice. The rooms are spectacular and all guests enjoyed breakfast.

Where do I start?! From the moment I set foot in The William Cecil, I knew it was going to be the wedding venue of dreams and I wasn’t wrong.

The venue itself is stunning, all of the rooms are divine and the setting is just incredible. As soon as you walk in to the hotel you feel like you’re at home, and are treated impeccably by all staff.

Our wedding day was a dream thanks to The William Cecil and their team of dedicated and friendly staff. Despite some big timing/schedule changes on the day due to our car not arriving to take us to the church and failing to pick us up after the ceremony too to take us back to The William Cecil, the team worked tirelessly to ensure our day still ran as smoothly as possible and went completely above and beyond from the morning until the evening.

I am so grateful to each and every one of the staff at William Cecil, especially our wonderful coordinator on the day, the chef, waiting and bar staff who were all amazing during the entirety of the day. Amy was so super helpful and awesome in the run up to the day, and always made me feel confident and comfortable with my choices everytime I felt a little self conscious about them due to our wedding being slightly untraditional, she always made us feel so comfortable and was always on hand to answer any questions no matter how big or small, we felt so supported by her.

The food, service, and pretty much everything on the day was faultless, our guests were full of compliments, and I would highly recommend this venue for anyone’s wedding, no matter the style. You won’t regret it!

Originally we wanted to get married quietly with no fuss, but made the mistake in telling a few people.. and surprisingly they wanted to come, so our plans evolved … and I’m so glad we chose the William Cecil. We had a lovely intimate wedding for about 35 people (more in the evening) which was just perfect.

We held the date mid week as we wanted it on a specific date. It also rained the day we got married, (which was my fear) but because it was so beautifully set up inside - we didn’t really care about the rain at all.
