Facilities and Capacity

A spellbinding wedding venue in all seasons, Tŷ Afon transforms from the deep reds and aubergines of Autumn into a riot of glorious green, pink and blue in Spring and Summer. Winter in the national park is also a time of dramatic landscapes, moody mountain skies, and the occasional dusting of sparkling snow. Tŷ Afon sets the scene for an authentic, romantic wedding experience that pays homage to the relationship and the journey you are taking together. Perfect for those who love the natural world, couples can choose a traditional church wedding or venue-based ceremony.

We have an outside terrace overlooking the valley, nestled in 360 degree mountain views and forests, where you can also take your vows. The Ffestiniog railway can be seen chuffing past and the river flows into the Aberglaslyn gorge straight from the bottom of the drive.

Inside we have capacity for 80 seated and 120 in the evening.

Situated in the heart of Beddgelert, one of Snowdonia premier villages and voted this year as one of the UK’s prettiest villages. We offer 10 rooms that sleep 24 within the house, a further 3 guest rooms and a cottage within a couple of minutes walk. There is plenty of additional accommodation available throughout the village, also within a few minutes walk for your guests.

Church weddings occur in the sacred sanctuary of St Mary’s, once part of an Augustinian priory. Beautifully planted gardens with many trees and colours provide the perfect backdrop for that confetti moment or photography, followed by a memorable wedding reception with everything needed for a night of dining and dancing.

Accommodation

Devotedly designed to recreate the feel of the great outdoors, each of our ensuite guest rooms provides a luxurious space for you and your guests to relax, prepare and reflect on the festivities. The changing colours of the mountains can be admired from all our bedroom windows. Further accommodation (within walking distance) is available in the village for larger parties.

Services Offered

The dedicated Tŷ Afon team is on hand throughout the event to care for you and your guests. From setting up to clearing away, they will endeavour to orchestrate even the smallest detail so your celebration will be remembered. The venue offers a light-up dance floor and can arrange music and PA systems per your needs. An excellent breakfast menu is made to order for guests if more than the included continental breakfast is required. The venue also offers ample private parking for ease of arrival.
