I recently got married in October and Villamena was the most perfect location to do that! We stayed 3 nights with 46 guests total, so everyone was able to stay on site and be together throughout the whole time! Simona and Rafaella were super helpful throughout the whole process of the wedding planning, answering questions and helping me book a restaurant for the night before the wedding day.
They were also amazing on the day of - my husband and I were nervous as the week of the wedding it was raining rather consistently, but it didn't stop Simona and Rafaella from making everything perfect (trust them!!). The food was amazing both the day of the wedding, and the pizza party we had booked as well! There was more than enough food and wine, throughout the day and the drinks at the party were strong, so be careful haha.
They also do an amazing job accommodating for food intolerances! My husband and his mom were the only two who have celiac, and instead of them not having cake, they went above and beyond to find a bakery in Assisi to make a small gluten free one!
All the staff were lovely, and the venue was stunning! I had the dreamiest wedding. I could not recommend this location enough!

My wife and I were married at Villamena this spring. We were looking for a venue that would allow us to host our friends and family on site, help us explore Assisi and the countryside, and be a very special place to get married. Villamena was all of that and more.

We rented the villa for four days leading up to our wedding and used it as an excuse to invite our friends out for a joint bachelor/bachelorette party. Raffaella and her team made the entire process incredibly easy. They have a selection of events to choose from and took care of essentially all of the planning. It made our five day celebration fun and easy – it was clear as soon as we arrived that we could just sit back and enjoy all of the events without taking care of any last minute planning.

As to the week itself, first and foremost, the food that they served us was fantastic. Each evening, Villamena served us home cooked, three course meals with great wine. From the woodfire barbecue, to pizza, to pasta made from scratch, we were continually impressed with the quality of the food. The highlight was undoubtedly the wine tasting that Villamena arranged for us, which featured an impressive selection of Umbrian wines and cheeses, which was both delicious and helped us appreciate the region’s rich viticulture. And the villa was easily able to accommodate our guests’ dietary restrictions, making sure everyone had great food to eat that met their needs

Second, the lodgings were modern, updated, and exceptionally comfortable. Each apartment included a kitchenette, comfortable beds, and at least one antique piece from Raffaella’s family, lending them all a really special ambiance. The villa’s commitment to creating a comfortable environment was evident throughout.

To top it all off, the villa hosted our wedding on our final night, which was very special. The venue itself - overlooking the Italian countryside - was an amazing backdrop. Raffaella and her team went above and beyond to make sure that everything was flawless. The food was (somehow) better than what we had eaten during the week, including Raffaella’s special Villamena Tortelloni, a recipe that her family has passed down over generations. The cake was gorgeous, the DJ kept the celebration going with a great playlist, and Stefan kept the cocktails flowing. It was nothing short of spectacular.

We cannot recommend this villa or Raffaella highly enough. This was the perfect destination wedding. The combination of exceptional cuisine, beautiful surroundings, and an attentive team made it an absolute gem in Assisi. We hope to be back soon.

We had our wedding in July 2022 and I am still in awe of Villamena. We wanted a destination wedding in Italy and spent many, many months looking for the perfect location and we found it at Villamena. Organizing a wedding in itself is extremely daunting, and then adding on the fact that we are based in US made it all the more complex, however Raffaela and Simona truly made the experience easy. The location is perfect for those looking for a destination that is truly inspiring. The Villa is surrounded by the Mount Subasio park and from every angle you are emerged in natural beauty. The Villa has been recently renovated and each room is uniquely designed, which was perfect for us, our friends and family that stayed with us.

Our wedding in Villamena was the best time we've ever had!

Rafaella and her team took care of everything so we could relax and enjoy the weekend with our friends and family. Besides planning the wedding day, they also planned and executed a BBQ night to welcome our guests, a wine tasting with a very talented sommelier with great English, and a pizza party.

Our guests took advantage of the facilities and arranged morning yoga by the pool with the fantastic view, a tennis tournament, a football tournament, and trips to explore Assisi.

The apartments were nice (newly renovated), and the breakfast basket was a good way to welcome guests with some food (bread, biscuits, eggs, juice, Nutella etc.) and make sure they had something to eat as guests have traveled far. Throughout the days, guests could mingle at one of the terraces, in the garden and by the pool, or relax in their apartments, which was a nice way to accommodate guests' social preferences.

On the day of the party, the most beautiful flower decorations began to show up in the garden and at the dinner table. Villamena had speakers at their disposal for the ceremony. The reception, dinner, cake, and party went extremely well. We can recommend the DJ, who got the party started - and was good at including the songs we sent beforehand in his set. The bar was fabulous with a big selection of drinks.

Villamena was the perfect setting for our wedding, and we cannot recommend it enough.

We had our wedding at Villamena over the weekend of 2nd-5th June and we can't stress enough how brilliant Raffaella and Simona were, not just on the day, but in the two years of planning and build up.

I read in another review before our wedding: "trust them". And this truly was the right advice. They really know what they're doing and their sometimes relaxed attitude is simply because they have done this 100s of times before. They are both incredibly kind and welcoming and really made our wedding feel important to them. Nothing was too much trouble and all my requests were met with a 'sure no problem'.

The planning process was generally very smooth. We went out to visit once but otherwise conducted all of our planning over Zoom and email. We opted to book our own photographer and string quartet but otherwise used all of the suppliers provided by Villamena.

The flowers were absolutely beautiful and just as we'd asked for and they set up these incredible 'starry sky' fairy lights in the terrace which were absolutely stunning and well worth the extra cost.

The most impressive thing was definitely the food - it was absolutely incredible across the whole weekend - from the BBQ to the wedding dinner, to the pizza and pasta on Sunday. It was all simply amazing and they catered brilliantly to all of our guests' many dietary requirements. I can't eat gluten and had the best gluten free pasta and pizza I've ever eaten!

On the day, we were very unlucky and experienced some of the worst hail and rain ever for that time of year. But Raffaella and Simona had ordered in this amazing marquee to link the refectory and the terrace and we were able to move the ceremony at the last minute to keep everyone dry. I was so touched by the effort they'd gone to to ensure our wedding was still special despite the insane weather! It was truly magical and now I couldn't imagine it any other way.

This was truly a wonderful place to get married. Our guests all raved about the venue and the surrounding beautiful countryside. The apartments are really beautifully decorated and comfortable. We had breakfast baskets supplied in every room which were amazing and ensured everyone had plenty to eat outside of the wedding events. We also hired the nearby Sole Luna which was really convenient if you want to have a few more guests staying nearby.

Overall, we both truly recommend Villamena as an amazing wedding venue. We will never forget the weekend we had and will be coming back in years to come for our anniversaries!

Villa Mena is a beautiful and idyllic wedding venue which offered comfortable accommodation for all our guests, the most beautiful views on the amazing region of Umbria, and a great variety of terraces and other places to hold meals and party’s throughout the weekend. Raffaela who owns the place is very enthusiastic, proud, kind and caring. And Simona was the best helping us planning our wedding. Communication was good, prices were fair, and anything we wanted could be arranged. They work with a very good suppliers (hairdresser, make-up artist, florist, baker) and their cooks made traditional cuisine which was delicious and served by the most kind and caring staff. They really think with you and go the extra mile to make you comfortable. For example, they offered to change the location for lunch to the pool which was amazing since everybody was relaxing there. Our wedding weekend was relaxed, comfortable, beautiful and filled with love, kindness and amazing parties. Thanks a lot!

My husband (Belgian) and I (American) just celebrated the most amazing 3 day wedding weekend with about 80 guests. We currently live in Denmark and therefore needed a space where all of our friends and family (from multiple coutries countries) could easliy gather and enjoy a long weekend together. We almost all stayed at Villamena or nearby at Sole Luna and Nizzi. The weekend was perfect! The venue was even more beautiful than we had imagined (we didn't see it before) and our guests kept asking how we found such a wonderful space. The meals were all delicious and Rafaella and Simona always know whats best to do- trust them. The drinks and bar were flowing all weekend, big thank you to the staff for all of your hard work! We had so much fun dancing until past 3am!

We had a gelato cart come on our "recovery day/ pool party" which was a big hit among guests- highly recommend! We couldn't ask for a better way to celebrate our marriage, thank you Villamena for such wonderful memories!

We had our wedding at Villamena in July and it was better than we ever imagined! Rafaella, Simona and all of the staff were amazing and made our 3 days with all our friends and family more than we could have wished for.
We booked the venue without seeing it, and it was a risk worth taking as everything was perfect.
Even though the rain set in for some of the time we were there, we were confident that Rafaella and Simona would still make our wedding the best it could be - and they did. The flowers, food, scenery, accommodation, pool, the villamena cocktail and staff were some of the highlights for us. Thank you to all of the team. We wish we could do it all over again!
