As featured in "The Crown", Wadhurst Castle is a beautiful Regency castle wedding venue located in Wadhurst, East Sussex. Nestled within magnificent gardens, this warm, welcoming setting is ideal for both intimate and extravagant milestone celebrations alike. The destination borders Kent and Sussex, making it easily accessible from London and the South East.
Facilities and Capacity
Wadhurst Castle welcomes you to celebrate your entire wedding day with them or just your ceremony or just your reception following a church or ceremony elsewhere. When booking this venue, you will have exclusive use of the castle with its magnificent rooms together with the light and airy Carriage Barn and the beautiful gardens. You and your guests will be able to admire stunning views across the uninterrupted Sussex countryside as you celebrate here. During warmer months, you and your partner can exchange vows in one of the two licensed garden spaces. Celebratory drinks and tantalising canapes can then be enjoyed on the South Terrace. In addition to the gardens, you have the beautiful castle rooms and the Carriage Barn offering further licensed ceremony and dining choices. The castle can then accomodate 130 for evening parties.

Perfect experience!
Everything about your experience was perfect. Susan was so delightful and helpful to work with—she was timely, kind, and 100% on our side for making our day the way we wanted it. The castle is GORGEOUS, and I feel the pricing was extremely fair. We had such a magical day and it’s thanks to Susan and this wonderful venue.

Lovely intimate wedding!
Firstly, Susan and Cassie were so helpful and offered great advice about the venue and wedding plans in a timely manner, despite it being a last minute wedding (planned in less than 2 months due to personal circumstances).
At the first venue visit, Susan was able to let us explore the venue. She had a very relaxed, but informative, no pressure approach. Most importantly, the venue and gardens are beautiful!
Communication was assertive and done over teams calls and mostly via email.
On the day of our wedding, Cassie took over and very thoughtful and helpful. No issues, no headaches.

August Wedding at Wadhurst Castle
My partner and I had the most amazing experience at Wadhurst Castle for our wedding - it could not have been more perfect! From coming to view the venue a few years ago right up to the day itself, the whole team could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. Susan, Cassie and the team were always on call to answer any questions and really wanted the day to be led by us, being so accommodating.
All of our guests loved the venue, and the amount of different spaces used throughout the day. The Winter Garden room was a favourite! Having our wedding breakfast in the Carriage Barn was lovely - it is a very fresh and open space. We managed to get a break in the rain to get some photos outside in the stunning gardens. Would absolutely recommend this venue, and if I were able to do it all over again I would with no changes!

Delightful wedding reception!
Wadhurst Castle was the ideal venue for us, combining beautiful gardens with fantastic service and a stunning setting. The staff were amazing at guiding us throughout the organisation process, and quick to respond. We would wholly recommend!

Nothing short of perfect!
I cannot begin to describe how amazing our wedding was. It was everything I have ever dreamed of and more. Wadhurst castle was the most PERFECT venue!! Our guests were stunned by the venue and scenery - I could not have asked for more and wish we could do the day over again. Wadhurst castle was the first place we viewed (of about 20 venues across the south of England) and believe me if you are looking for somewhere a bit different but has the wow factor- wadhurst castle is the place!

June Wedding Planned from the States
Wadhurst was everything my husband and I hoped it would be. We live in the US and booked it sight unseen (after his parents had a visit and gave it the thumbs up), but were able to tour the castle in January. Even in the dead of winter, it blew me away. For our relatively small wedding (50 people) it could not have been more perfect. By the time June came, it was covered in florals. Some of my favorite pictures of us are in the Walled Garden surrounded by the blooming roses, and we hadn’t decorated that area at all as we got married on the South Lawn. The team at Wadhurst was on top of everything. Planning from so far away, I had to really just trust them, and they absolutely came through for us. Thank you Kelly, Susan, Cassie, and Fiona!

The perfect wedding venue
We got married on 10th June 2023 and it really was the perfect day at the perfect venue. Could not recommened Wadhurst Castle more, and we had so many compliments from friends and family on how amazing it was.
I stayed at Castle Cottage the night before the wedding with my bridesmaids, it was so special waking up in the morning with the view of the castle and walled garden where we were soon to marry. I then moved the bridal suite to get ready, and my husband used the cottage for getting ready. The bridal suite has beautiful views over the downs and I could see preparations taking place and hear guests starting to arrive. We had our ceremony in the walled garden, then moved to the south lawn for drinks and canapes, our wedding breakfast in the barn (newly fitted with air con which was hugely appreciated), and the evening party in the castle. This provided a great flow, usuing different parts of the castle and grounds throughout the day.
Susan and Cassie were so helpful with the organisation and were very responsive. They provided an excellent list of recommended suppliers to choose from. The staff on the day were also incredibly helpful and I felt so well looked after at all times.

The most amazing wedding
Wadhurst Castle is a beautiful venue and location. It’s everything I’ve ever wished my wedding venue to be. the staff were absolutely amazing - so friendly and helpful and very calm and reassuring on the day. Our wedding was perfect all thanks to the team!

The most beautiful venue
We had our wedding at Wadhurst Castle on 13th August.
The team were brilliant from start to finish, we had Susan who assisted us with showing us around, booking the venue and answered every question and provided great advice.
We also spoke with Cassie who was co-ordinating our day and getting all the details together, she listened and provided some great ideas for our day.
On the day we had a lady called Dana she was amazing, nothing was a issue, she got everything ready and everyone in place for us and assisted with last minute changes to ensure everything went smoothly.
The venue itself was gorgeous, the setting and the flowers / gardens really adds to our photos and was an amazing venue, our guests were amazed with the views and loved it.

Incredible venue and fabulous team!
We could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding. From the minute we set foot inside the beautiful grounds we were sold on Wadhurst Castle, it truly has it all – stunning landscape views, total privacy, gorgeous historic interior, lots of beautiful indoor and outdoor locations for your ceremony/meal/reception. Meeting Susan and her team only further confirmed to us that we’d be in the best possible hands, and indeed we could not have asked for more from the event coordination team in the run up to our day. We had to reschedule our celebrations once due to Covid and whilst it seems so many venues saw this as a money-making opportunity, Wadhurst Castle went out of their way to make the process as straight forward and reassuring as possible. I truly believe that there is nowhere better to host a wedding – SO happy we found Wadhurst Castle!

Magic castle
Wadhurst Castle just has the "wow" factor and made for a maigcal wedding day for my partner Gil and I. It took a while to find our perfect venue as we wanted somewhere that catered for a small wedding and that was comeptitive in terms of price and Wadhurst really delivered.
What sets it apart from other similar venues is that it is a very flexible space, with stunning surroundings that are exclusively yours for the day. The interior is a really grand space, a 19th century style mansion and we had our ceremony in the drawing room, which was perect as it large and airy and looks out onto the stunning Sussex countryside.
Our reception was in the extensive gardens surrounding the castle, the grandeur leaving us feeling liked we had stepped onto the set of Downtown Abbey at times. Dinner was in the Orangery, which again offered a wonderful backdrop. Looking out at the sun dappled fields as the conversation flowed and night fell was something really special.
Weddings are really nerve-wracking occasions but Danya, who looked after us so ably on the day, and Susan, who was always on hand in the lead-up, were absolutely amazing. So much so that Danya stayed on after hours when our cab did not arrive at the end of the evening. It is over and above, which is what you can expect from Wadhurst Castle.

The happiest day
Wadhurst Castle is the venue of fairy tale dreams!
From the moment we set foot on the grounds we knew it was the one for us. We didn't even bother to look at other venues because it felt like home!
The team at Wadhurst treat you like friends and are there every step of the way to ensure you have the best day of your lives. We can't thank Susan, Cassie and Kelly enough for everything they did for us in the two years planning and day of our wedding.
We will live on this high for the rest of our lives!

The perfect venu
We chose Wadhurst Castle as our wedding venue and it was one of the easiest and best decisions we made!
I cannot recommend this venue enough. It speaks for itself, the castle is such an incredible backdrop and the grounds are beautiful.
But what you won't see from pictures is the team behind it - who are absolutely fantastic. In the lead up, Susan and Cassie were unbelievably helpful - responding really quickly to my (many) emails and questions. The final details meeting was so thorough and left me feeling so at ease with how the day was going to go. We felt listened to throughout, and we so appreciated Susan's vast experience and love for weddings, to help us shape our day.
On the day itself, Susan was an absolute dream. She put me at ease, took control of things that I wasn't even aware of, and made sure everything ran smoothly - even despite some bad weather meaning we had to change a few things. I had total confidence in her and that's one of the best things you can ask for as a bride!
It will be the best decision you could make for your day choosing Wadhurst Castle.

Just perfect
Couldn’t have found a better venue for my wedding. I worked with a team that were perfect. Cassie our venue manager and the catering company that was recommended by the venue, hand in hand made our day dreamy.
Only brides & grooms know how much work goes into planning a wedding and the stress it has but honestly every time I’d speak to Cassie or my caterer they just assured me. The day went exactly as they said. Every plan went perfectly & smoothly thanks to the amazing team from Wadhurst Castle. Walled garden was in full bloom. Roses & Cosmos flowers in other gardens. I cannot recommend this venue enough.
Layout of the rooms is perfect. From the view of the room I got to get ready to drawing room with a little cake room & conservatory one word, “DREAMY”!
