Civil ceremonies can take place within the fortress or outside amidst the 64 acres of wide-open spaces and stunning gardens. The Conservatory, originally built in 1786, features a beautiful terrace atop the Peacock Garden, ideal for post-ceremony drinks. For the wedding photographs, the East Front lawn offers majestic castle views at the foot of the 14th-century Guy's Tower. Meanwhile, the Central Courtyard is the venue's most inspiring setting, surrounded by turrets and ramparts. Inside, the opulent State Dining Room is distinguished by its centuries-old paintings and lavish chandelier. This ornate space is perfect for ceremonies of up to 95 or wedding breakfasts of up to 40 and can serve as a bar area for receptions in the Great Hall. The Great Hall banqueting hall is the most impressive, with a maximum capacity for 120 seated guests and 180 for a lively reception. Retire to one of the venue's cosy lodges or brand new hotel!
