Wedderburn is a magical wedding and party location for up to 150 guests that offers the use of a magnificent Scottish castle or a rustic barn venue.

Located in the romantic Scottish Borders just an hour south of Edinburgh, Wedderburn provides the flexibility to use either the castle or barns individually or to use both for your celebration. It is possible to have a formal castle wedding and dinner followed by a party in the barns later on, or use the barns for your party and then stay in the luxurious castle. The spaces can also be used separately.

The historic exclusive-use castle provides a number of elegant reception rooms for you and your guests to enjoy on your wedding day and is set on 80 acres of magnificent private grounds. Offering the quintessential Scottish country house experience, you can hold your wedding ceremony in our ballroom, on the lawns in front of the castle or in one of a number of pretty local churches, then host a drinks reception in our drawing room and gallery or in the grounds. Dinner for up to 86 will be served in the dining room before you lead your guests into dancing and partying later in the evening.

Wedderburn Barns, our barn wedding venue, provides a more rustic experience than the castle and can host up to 150 guests. Set around a romantic courtyard in the Georgian stable block on the castle grounds, there are two barns – one for eating and one for bands and dancing. The barns offer atmospheric-dressed stone walls, flagstone floors, rustic rafters and wrought iron chandeliers to create a blank canvas for your vintage or country-style wedding.

There is accommodation for up to 26 resident guests in the glamorous castle bedrooms and there is additional space in the luxurious cottages and lodges around the estate. In recent years the interiors of the castle and the cottages have been restored to retain historical charm but to add modern comforts necessary to make your stay enjoyable.
