Historic Wells Town Hall stands in the Market Square, close to the Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace. The Town Hall offers three rooms for marriage ceremonies; the Council Chamber, the Parkes Room and the Main Hall.
PARKES ROOM - Situated on the first floor, with its windows to floor level and a feature "Venetian" window is a light and airy room. It can accommodate up to 70 guests and has access for those less able by passenger lift.
MAIN HALL - "The finest public room in Somerset" is the largest room having permission for wedding ceremonies. Situated on the first floor this wooden floored and picture lined room is lit by two crystal chandeliers and can hold up to 180 guests. In addition to being fully equipped for the conduct of marriage ceremonies, the Town Hall has a Public Entertainment Licence, a recently refurbished kitchen with crockery and cutlery to cater for 180 people.
- On the 27th of November 1998 the Town Hall was granted a Licence for the conduct of Civil Marriages.
