Based in Ayr, Dumfries Galloway & Ayrshire, VIP Wedding Films- Scotland is a family-owned videography company specialising in filming weddings and other events. The team has over 25 years of experience in media and has worked within the wedding industry for 15 years. Over this time, their work has garnered recognition and accolades, such as best filmmaker at the Your Scottish Wedding Awards and best videographer at the Great British Wedding Awards.
Services Offered
VIP Wedding Films- Scotland has several videography packages which can be tailored by adding extra features or customising existing elements to suit your requirements. At a minimum, you can enjoy 2 cameras covering your ceremony, speeches and reception, establishing shots of your venue and the arrival of guests, music of your choice, and video highlights of the event. Exciting optional add-ons include drone footage, guest video messages, behind-the-scenes footage and many more.

What does the wedding package include?
We offer two videography packages and four video and photo packages which we offer with top wedding photographers. Please contact us for full details of our services
How far in advance should I contact you?
We get booked up very quickly, so the sooner you get in touch with us the better so we can answer any questions you have or if you want to book our services
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, we cover the whole of Scotland
What is the charge for travelling?
Travelling expenses are included in the packages prices, but if we have to travel out with
100 miles (round trip) then a rate of 55p per mile will be charged there after

We are totally natural when filming, and very discreet in capturing every moment of your day perfectly

We use top of the range Sony Professional Video Cameras

Do you charge per hour or per event?

How do you charge extra time?
We don't charge for extra time- unless it is running way behind
For example if a first dance was supposed to be 8pm but didn't take place until 9.15pm - then there would be an extra fee added
What are the forms of payment?
We accept a deposit of £250 for video packages and £400 for video and photo packages, which can be paid by Bank Transfer or Credit Card
How do you work?
We work discreetly on the day of a wedding blending into the background, capturing every moment of your wedding day perfectly from start to finish. Please ask for examples of our work

Derek was fantastic on me & my husbands wedding day, you didn’t even know he was there but he captured all the important parts of our special day. Since booking Derek & Maureen I recommended them to a friend who has booked them for their wedding later in the year as I was very pleased with the information and service I received from making the enquiry to booking for our special day. Derek worked well with my other suppliers which was lovely to see the team work. We had a video call prior to our wedding where Derek answered all my questions and any worries I had for our wedding and he put my mind at ease. Best decision ever and best day of our lives
So glad that I found Derek. He made our wedding day complete. The packages that he does are so much value for money and both myself and my husband enjoyed having him on our special day.
He put everyone at ease and the preview we got within 24 hours was outstanding. There were tears. He captured everything inc bits we missed and cannot wait to see the full version.

AMAZING! Highly recommend
We met Alejandro and Duncan on the morning of the wedding, and they were just fantastic. At one point, we saw Alejandro hiding in the trees and were amazed by the photos that were produced by this 😍. They were always there capturing every moment, so much so that they cut their break short to film our singing waiters that no one knew about as they were a gift from our MOH. We were then sent another sneak preview of our stills from the day within 24 hours of us being married, highlights the week later then our full wedding video 3 weeks after the wedding. We were so impressed with the quick turnaround and amazing quality of the video.

Amazing from start to finish
We booked Derek to be the videographer for our wedding as a package with our photographer. Derek blended in and most of our guest thought he was a guest also. He made us both feel so at ease and wasn’t noticeable at all. We received our highlights within a couple of days of our wedding and less than 2 weeks later we had the footage to go over for our full wedding video. We look forward to seeing this when our USB arrives in the next week. Thank you so much Derek for capturing the most amazing day of our lives. We would highly recommend your services to anyone. VIP wedding videos were my choice after reading previous reviews for a while before deciding to book with them.. I had lots of correspondence with Derek who fully quelled all my anxieties before the day came.
On the day Derek arrived and just worked away in the background unseen and unheard. He was very professional and worked alongside my photographer, Derek captured all the moments I didn’t see or hear and watching the video made me very emotional as I missed so much of our day.
